Here Are 7 Awesome Things To Do When It’s Raining On Your Cruise
Rain on your cruise vacation got you down? You can still enjoy your ocean holiday even if the weather isn’t cooperating. Don’t sulk in your cabin – try one of these awesome rainy day activities instead.
1. Check out the ship’s spa.
Chances are your cruise ship comes with an awesome spa. When the sun is shining, you’d probably opt to hit the deck and not hide away indoors, but a rainy day is the perfect time to let yourself be pampered. Nothing like some time in the sauna or a massage to chase away that chill.
2. Learn something new.
No, we’re not talking about cracking open a textbook. It’s more than likely that your cruise ship comes equipped with opportunities to build skills like basketball, poker or even ice skating. Even holing away in a library with a good book or new board game can be a great way to pass the time.
3. Get the pool all to yourself.
What’s a little rain when you’re already wet? Check with the staff to make sure there’s no lightning risk and then take advantage of the empty pool.
4. Plan a tasting adventure.
Use the poor weather as an excuse to explore the ships dining options. Nothing says "rainy day" like slipping into something comfortable and tucking into a feast. Splurge a little and try to sample as many of the ship’s restaurants as you can. Hey, no one’s going to see you in a swimsuit until the weather clears anyway.
5. Catch a day show.
While you’d ordinarily save indoor entertainment for after dark, take advantage of the gloomy weather to catch a matinee film or afternoon musical. Check your ship’s schedule to see if there’s a play or performance you can take in while it drizzles.
6. Camp out in your cabin.
Sometimes a bit of peace and quiet is just what you need on a longer cruise. Order room service, grab some blankets and pillows, pop on a movie and ride out the storm in your pajamas.
7. Explore the ship.
