5 Ways To Take The Stress Out Of Holiday Travel
Traveling during the holidays is prone to cause anxiety, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be that way. Your holiday travel experience is bound to be a pleasant one as long as you’ve done a bit of preparation. So without further ado, here are a few ways to take the stress out of your holiday travel plans:
1. Arrive at the airport early.
Sure, this one may seem obvious, but arriving at the airport is the most important thing when it comes to a stress-free travel day. Few things compare to the anxiety of
almost missing a flight (or worse, actually missing it), so be sure to give yourself at least two hours of buffer time.
2. Pack as light as you can.
Chances are your suitcase will be filled with bulky layers and a few gifts. However, if you can consolidate and bring only carry-on luggage, you'll save yourself the hassle of waiting at baggage claim.
3. Pack your bags with the security checkpoint in mind.
If you're traveling with a laptop or liquids, be sure everything is easily accessible so you're not rummaging through your bag in line. Doing so can be time-consuming and definitely adds stress to the trip.
4. Enjoy access to an airport lounge.
Airport lounges aren't just for V.I.P. flyers. Your credit card may allow you to gain access to select airport lounges throughout the U.S. Being comfortable as you wait for your flight is totally worth the investment and will have you feeling relaxed before take-off.
5. Don't forget to pack all of those little things that will make your flight more enjoyable.
Make sure your carry-on includes all the travel necessities you'll want for your flight, such as headphones, an extra layer, and something to read. Now that you've boarded your flight, you deserve to rest!
