If ever you’ve wanted to experience first class without the pricey plane ticket, you’re in luck. There are a few tricks of the trade that can make your economy seat feel incredibly comfortable, if not luxurious. Without further ado, here are a few tips for upgrading your seat (if only in spirit).

If you're traveling economy, chances are the only food you can look forward to is a small bag of peanuts or pretzels. So why not pack your own food and have something to look forward to? A homemade sandwich or your favorite candy will immediately make you feel right at home.

Some find that sleeping on an airplane can be nearly impossible, but if you bring a comfortable pillow and blanket, you can add a touch of luxury to your trip. Who knows- you might even catch some shut-eye after all.

Just because you're not a first class ticket holder doesn't mean you can't visit an airport lounge. Enjoying a snack, drink, and perhaps even a shower will be worth the fee of accessing the lounge.
