Whether you’re pushing through crowds during the holiday rush or attempting to get to that relaxing beach vacation, it feels like air travel is always at its absolute peak. While most people need to schedule their flights according to their work and vacation schedules, it never hurts to be aware of the prime time for flying. Making a small scheduling concession can make a huge difference in your flight experience, and you may only have to adjust a few hours off your typical course. Officials have weighed in on the matter of when is the best time to travel and we’re here to report these findings.
It's no secret that flying during the holidays or other peak hours can be less than ideal. With air travel at its peak and families moving to and from their destinations, it often feels like one big blur.
No one wants to be stuffed shoulder to shoulder with others while in line for security. No one wants to have to stand in a line wrapped around half the airport in order to get a coffee before their flight. No one wants a packed plane full of angry, frustrated people.
Fortunately, there are a few ways to avoid a majority of this travel stress. And this tip can save you plenty of time, no matter the season.
Choosing the right flight time can make all the difference on your trip. You can go from stressed to relaxed in seconds flat, by just selecting a different schedule.
According to exports, the absolute best time of day to travel is the early morning. While this may seem obvious, there are still plenty of people that avoid flying in the early mornings.
We get it, no everyone is a morning person. But if you could avoid getting shoved in the back by someone's bag every five minutes, wouldn't it be worth it?
Understandably, many are hesitant to sacrifice those precious hours of sleep. Yet studies have shown that flights scheduled before 8AM are far less likely to be delayed.
Without a huge docket of previous flights and weather issues that may set things back, flights at this time have a much better chance of going off without a hitch.
There are other perks too. Because the majority of people would prefer to get their beauty sleep, these flights tend to be less crowded than others. We can't guarantee you'll have a row to yourself but you may not feel like a sardine in a tin.
You're also getting a fresh staff in the morning. So your flight attendants and pilots aren't worn out and frustrated from many back and forth trips already.
So if you've braved the airport at an early hour, you can rest assured that your whole experience will go about as smoothly as possible. Plus, you may even be able to sleep on the plane!
