You Can Buy Other Travelers’ Lost Winter Gear At This Unique Sale

If you’re in the market for a new winter coat or some ski gear, this unique sale in Alabama might be just the place to snag a great deal.

The Unclaimed Baggage Center is having its annual winter sale, where curious customers can rifle through more than 9,000 discounted items that were sent to the center by US airlines.

As the name suggests, everything at the Unclaimed Baggage Center was left behind by airline travelers. Some items were forgotten on planes, but the majority of goods come from lost or misdirected luggage that was never claimed by its owners. After holding the items for 90 days, the airlines send them to the Unclaimed Baggage Center to be resold.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. The center receives about 7,000 new items each day, so there’s always something new in stock. This year’s annual winter sale includes further discounts on items like skis, helmets, coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather gear.

The sale will begin on Nov. 3. Stop by at 6 a.m. for parking lot events like raffles and games, and then stick around for complimentary pizza and s’mores while you shop. You can find the Unclaimed Baggage Center at 509 W. Willow St., Scottsboro, AL.
