Wildfires are sweeping across Colorado and leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

According to the latest reports from the Denver Post, more than 175,000 acres have been affected by the flames.

The 416 Fire began on June 1 near Durango and was only about 50 percent contained at last estimate.

The Spring Creek Fire began on June 27 and is now considered to be the third-largest fire in Colorado history. It has affected over 108,000 acres.

The rain has caused ash and mud flows to impact the Animas River, killing thousands of fish.
