Wildfires Are Raging All Throughout Colorado And Devastating Parts Of The State

Wildfires are sweeping across Colorado and leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

According to the latest reports from the Denver Post, more than 175,000 acres have been affected by the flames.

The 416 Fire began on June 1 near Durango and was only about 50 percent contained at last estimate.

The Spring Creek Fire began on June 27 and is now considered to be the third-largest fire in Colorado history. It has affected over 108,000 acres.

The Lake Christine Fire started on July 3 and has been determined to be human-caused. It has burned over 7,000 acres and is about 60 percent contained.

There are also fires burning in Park County and Grand County.

The devastation has actually been increased by heavy rains and flooding, which have forced road closures and closed access to important routes.

The rain has caused ash and mud flows to impact the Animas River, killing thousands of fish.
