Two Tourists Have Been Arrested For Getting Dangerously Close To Yellowstone’s Old Faithful
The powerful beauty of Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park is truly awe-inspiring, yet two tourists took their admiration many steps too far in an attempt to get as close as possible. This national park is notoriously dangerous, given the scalding hot temperature of the thermal pools, yet there is always a clear designation for keeping a safe distance. In other words, one must blatantly ignore signs and markings to come into dangerous proximity to the geysers. And unfortunately, that’s exactly why two tourists were arrested recently.

In fact, they were close enough to put their faces over the opening of the geyser.

These tourists now face charges of what's been deemed "thermal trespassing."

Unfortunately, thermal-related burns can be (and have been) a cause of injury and even death in the park.
As noted on the Yellowstone National Park website and throughout the park, staying on the boardwalk and designated viewing areas is of utmost importance.
