This New Orleans Hotel Will Give You A Free Stay If You Return An Outrageous Stolen Item

Do you have sticky fingers but a heavy conscience? If so, this New Orleans hotel will trade you a free stay for its stolen property.

The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel is running a weird and wonderful promotion: the person who returns “the most outrageous” item stolen from the hotel will get seven nights free in the hotel’s Presidential Suite. The thief will also be rewarded with spa treatments and free private dinners courtesy of the hotel’s executive chef.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

All of those perks are worth about $15,000, so this is no paltry reward. The promotion is part of the hotel’s 125th anniversary and the property is hoping to receive items that conjure up the glamor and glitz of the hotel’s past. So far, people have sent in vases, glassware, keys, and even a full tablecloth.

The contest is open until July 1, 2019. Items can be dropped off or mailed to the hotel with no questions asked. If you’d like to submit a stolen item, the hotel will even give it back to you at the end of the contest if you wish. Click here for more information.
