The Shortest Flight In America Will Take You Straight To Wine Country

The new shortest flight in America has an absolutely fabulous final destination.

Clocking in at a mere 16 minutes, the United flight (via Skywest) from San Francisco to Santa Rosa, California will ferry you straight into wine country in less time than it takes to pick up a bottle of vino from your local shop.

The 62-mile journey takes over an hour by car and can approach nearly two hours of drive time with traffic. United’s new route will get you there in about 45 minutes including taxiing before takeoff and after landing.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Santa Rosa is basically heaven for wine lovers. It’s the largest city in Sonoma County and full of vineyards, restaurants and gorgeous sights.

The next time you’re looking to grab a quick drink, this 16-minute flight will get you from runway to vineyard in no time.
