Seattle Airport Will Soon Allow You To Pick People Up Right At The Gate

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will soon allow you to pick up your loved ones right at the gate.

It’s a throwback to when airports weren’t as focused on security as they are today and actually allowed people to greet family and friends as they exited the plane.

Now, the airport is bringing back this small gesture of love by starting a “Visitor Pass Program.” This program will allow people without tickets to undergo a TSA security screening and pass through to domestic travel gates.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The catch? Only 50 visitors per day will be permitted to take advantage of the program. Fortunately, you can sign up the day before. The TSA will then send you an approval email and you can grab a pass when you get to the airport on the day of the pick-up. Visitors will then be required to go through the same security screening as passengers.

The program will only be available Tuesday through Sunday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. It’s a trail run, so visitors behaving badly could put the whole program in jeopardy.
