Bring Your Own Water Bottle The Next Time You Travel Through This California Airport
The hustle and bustle of the airport can be stressful, but once we’re through security, it’s nice to grab a snack and a drink and settle into our seats at the gate to relax before boarding. If you’re traveling through San Francisco International Airport soon, and you’re planning to hydrate with a bottle of water, you might want to bring your own bottle – the airport is banning single-use plastic water bottles later this month.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/
Visitors currently chug four million bottles of water at the airport every year – that’s a lot of plastic! This new measure is part of SFO’s Zero Waste Concessions program. Read more about the program here.
