A Famous Pearl Harbor Memorial Has Been Closed Indefinitely
Built back in 1962, the USS Arizona Memorial in Honolulu is a historic site that people from all around the world have come to see. Sadly, the memorial now remains closed indefinitely.
Earlier this month, boat transportation to the memorial ended after a crack on the outside of the memorial was noticed by a boat operator. After crews repaired the crack, tourists were actually allowed back to the memorial shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, just hours after the crack was fixed, more cracks reappeared that resulted in the indication of a bigger issue at hand.

While crews and engineers are doing all that they can to come up with a long-term solution that will work best, the memorial remains closed. The number of repairs needed is still unknown, but the National Park Service has stated that they will be diligent in providing information and updates to the public. For now, visitors can still explore other areas of the Pearl Harbor Visitors Center, but will not be able to explore the actual USS Arizona Memorial.
