Guinness Has Opened Its First U.S. Brewery In 64 Years And You’ll Want To Plan Your Visit

Guinness is an Irish brewery known for its rich beer and equally rich history. The famous company currently has just one brewery in America, but that’s about to change.

A brand-new facility called Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House has just opened its doors in Maryland and it looks spectacular.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The new brewery will function as both a beer-making facility and an attraction for beer-lovers. It offers guided and self-guided tours that allow visitors to check out more than 100 items from the brewery’s history in Ireland.

Of course, there’s also a taproom where visitors can sample creative and delicious brews.

If you’re looking to get a fresh pint of one of Guinness’s famous stouts, however, you’ll still have to fly to Ireland – the U.S. brewery won’t be producing iconic favorites like Guinness Draught Stout and Guinness Extra Stout.

The new brewery is located at 5001 Washington Blvd., Halethorpe, MD. Head to the Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House website for more info about visiting.
