You Can Get Into Tons Of National Parks For Free This Weekend

Nature lovers take note: you can actually explore any national park in the country for free this weekend.

Every year on select dates, the National Park Service allows the public into the nation’s coolest natural spots without entrance fees. Seeing as how 118 of the 417 national parks normally have some sort of admission price, this is a big deal.

November 11, 2018 is the next free day. It’s the last date of free admission this year, so be sure to make some time on Veteran’s Day to explore your local park.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Of course, you can also pick up an America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for $80 annually if you want unlimited access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas.

In addition to allowing as many people as possible to benefit from these incredible national treasures, the National Park Service hopes that checking out a local park for free will get people hooked on nature and keep them coming back for years to come.
