You Can Get Free Admission To 1,400 Museums This Weekend

If you’re looking for weekend plans that won’t dry up your bank account, there’s no better time to check out a museum.

Smithsonian Magazine is bringing back its annual Museum Day this Saturday. The event offers free admission to over 1,400 museums all across the country. Venues that normally cost $25 to $35 per person will be entirely free for one day only.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Participating museums include awesome spots like the San Deigo Air & Space Museum, Historic Fort Steuben in Ohio, and the Liberty Bell Museum in Pennsylvania. There are also plenty of children’s museums and special interest spots to visit.

You do need to register in advance for Museum Day. Just go to the Smithsonian website, select your museum, and register via email. You’ll receive a free pass that is valid for redemption on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
