U.S. News recommends a B.Y.O.B strategy – bring your own bed. Hotel rooms inside the park can really put a dent in your budget, so opt for camping to reduce your costs dramatically. They also suggest visiting towards the end of the summer for the best savings on activities, accommodations, and even dining. If you can swing a trip at the end of August or early September, you’ll be primed for huge savings.
Other tips include ditching the car (you can easily get around using the Grand Canyon’s free shuttle bus service) and opting for dinner at one of the on-site cafeterias in the South Rim rather than splurging on over-priced restaurant meals in the park.
