This New York Airport Was Ranked The Worst In America — Here’s Why

New York City’s LaGuardia Airport is officially the most hated in America.

A survey conducted by J.D. Power revealed that Americans can’t stand LaGuardia Airport in New York City, rating it the lowest in the nation for traveler satisfaction.

LaGuardia came in last overall with the lowest score of any North American airport, earning the unfortunate title of most reviled airport on the continent. As the city’s smallest airport and the closest to Manhattan, the airport sees a constant stream of business travelers who rail against the airport’s small terminals, poor amenities and constant delays.

The airport only has two runways, which makes weather delays a frequent problem. In fact, LaGuardia has the highest number of delayed flights in the nation. Part of the problem is the airport’s aging infrastructure; it was only designed to accommodate 8 million passengers a year when it opened in 1939. Today, LaGaurdia sees 29.7 million passengers yearly.

The survey also revealed that general customer satisfaction with U.S. airports is at an all-time high. However, that is considering that the airline industry consistently ranks as one of the lowest for customer satisfaction.
