This year’s contenders for best holiday market in North America are varied and truly unique, with options ranging from eclectic to traditional to downright beautiful. Whether you’re looking for a virtual journey back in time or seeking a Christmas experience that will simply take your breath away, you’ll undoubtedly find a favorite among USA Today’s 2019 finalists.
Big cities and small towns alike are contenders in this year’s contest, from holiday gatherings in Chicago and San Francisco to quaint markets in Holland, Michigan and Carmel, Indiana.
With the exception of the Vancouver Christmas Market, all of the finalists are located in the United States. For a touch of old world Christmas magic, consider the Georgetown Christmas Market in Georgetown, Colorado, where you’ll find plenty of history and Victorian costumes galore.
For a more bustling experience, you might opt for the Winter Village at Bryant Park in New York City, which features a gorgeous ice skating rink and plenty of booths for your shopping convenience. No matter which of these markets comes out on top, they all promise to deliver endless holiday cheer.
