Here’s The Healthiest State In The USA

In a nation obsessed with kale chips and spin class, one state has emerged as the healthiest in the country.

The latest annual report released by America’s Health Rankings bestows the crown of healthiest state in the nation to Massachusetts. Though the coastal New England state has consistently ranked in the top ten over the 28 years the report has been published, this is the first time it has taken the number one spot.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

To create the report, the AHR analyzed a massive range of data across 35 categories. They looked at things like environmental health conditions, community standards and individual behaviors like drug use and smoking. They also considered the quality of clinical care in the state, as well as obesity rates, health policy and air pollution.

Hawaii took the number two spot while Vermont scored bronze. Many states made respectable strides in the rankings since 2016 – Florida and Utah jumped four spots, while Kentucky, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Colorado and New York also crept up the ladder.
