This U.S. Airline Is Adding Free Live TV To Its Domestic Flights

You can now catch up on your favorite shows while cruising at 30,000 feet. That is, if you fly with American Airlines.

The U.S. carrier has just announced that it’s now offering free live TV on more than 100 of its domestic planes. The airline will also be expanding the service to 700 other planes in the year to come.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The service comes with a catch, however. You have to have your own streaming devices – such as a smartphone, laptop, or tablet – and you must have downloaded the American Airlines app before takeoff.

The airline is currently offering 12 channels, including Bravo, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Disney Channel, ESPN, FOX, NBC, NFL Network, Telemundo, TNT, and USA.

Of course, American Airlines isn’t the first carrier to offer this perk. Delta, Southwest, and JetBlue also offer live TV on their seat-back screens on some flights.
