Detroit Was Just Named The Most Stressed City In America

If you live in Michigan’s capital city, there’s a good chance you’re a bit more stressed than the rest of us.

That’s according to the latest study by WalletHub. Using data collected from more than 180 cities around the country and 37 metrics, they determined the most and least stressed cities in the nation.

Detroit topped the list in first place, followed by Newark, New Jersey and Cleveland, Ohio.

The least stressed city in America was determined to be Fremont, California. Bismarck, North Dakota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota were also ranked as some of the most zen in the country.

The data the study used to create its rankings included work-related factors such as average weekly work hours, average commute time, and job satisfaction.

The study also considered financial stressors like food insecurity, median credit score, and the share of households behind on bills the past 12 months. Heath data like depression rates and family data like the strength of social ties were also looked at.
