This U.S. Airport Is Bringing Back Its Magical Ice Skating Rink

Looking for something cool to do during your layover? If you’re stopping at Denver International Airport this winter, you’ll be able to take a spin around a real ice rink.

For the third year in a row, this Colorado airport is opening an ice rink to passengers. It’s located in the DEN Plaza, which is between The Westin and the airport.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Best of all, this rink is completely free. You don’t have to pay a dime for skate rentals or ice time, so there’s nothing stopping travel-weary visitors from twirling around the ice until their next flight.

The ice rink will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until January 6, 2019, after which it will be dismantled. Until then, this sounds like the perfect remedy for stressful winter travel!

The ice rink in DEN Plaza is located at 8500 Peña Blvd., Denver, CO 80249. For more information about the rink and other special events taking place at the airport this season, visit the Denver International Airport website here.
