These Are The 5 Mostly Highly Rated U.S. Airlines

These five U.S. airlines just beat out the rest of the pack to be crowned the best domestic airlines of 2017.

Travel + Leisure has announced it’s readership’s most beloved American-based airlines and the results include a mix of veteran airlines and newer favorites. The rankings were determined by asking readers to weigh in on airlines’ cabin comfort, service, value, customer service and food.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

In fifth place, Southwest Airlines scored 77.35 out of 100. Hawaiian Airlines came in fourth with a ranking of 78.55. Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airways were also quite close, with rankings of 78.98 and 80.59 respectively.

Virgin America came out on top with a score of 84.61. One reader commented: “As far as I’m concerned this is the only airline to fly in the U.S. It has style and it’s fun.” Other readers gushed about the leather seats, cabin mood lighting and quality food. Though Virgin America recently merged with Alaska Airlines, we’re hopeful that the airline’s future remains bright.
