Good news for anyone who uses Amtrak for work or play in the Northeast – the train service is getting a makeover.

Amtrak plans to roll out refurbished interiors on its Acela trains starting in 2021. The new trains will feature sleek, modern leather seating, fold-out tables, power outlets, and USB ports.

The trains will also offer dedicated luggage storage areas and plenty of room between seats. First class cars will offer sets of single and paired seats that face each other.

In addition to the comfort enhancements, the new cars will have six LED screens each that display the train speed, location, and conductor announcements. Passengers can also look forward to bathroom upgrades.

While the final designs for the cars have not been released, you can expect to nab a seat on Amrak’s new Acela trains in just about three years.
