It's officially the Christmas season. Thanksgiving has come and gone, so now it's time to pick out your Christmas tree and start decking the halls. The Christmas Cottage in Pendleton, KY is a charming little store to collect decorations ranging from tree ornaments to elaborate wreaths, and everything in between. It's only about 35 from Louisville, an hour from Frankfort, an hour and a half from Lexington, and just barely over an hour from towns across the river from Cincinnati, like Newport and Covington.

The owners of the Christmas Cottage, Tony Nichter and Derin Fetz, live on the property. They've always enjoyed extravagantly decorating their home for the holidays, so they decided to convert an empty shed on their property into a Christmas store, and that's how the Christmas Cottage came to be.

Mellwood Antiques and Interiors in Louisville, Kentucky, is an enormous treasure trove with the potential to elevate any thrifter's game.
