Zoos are cool and all since you get to see tons of interesting animals that you can’t find anywhere else, but they’re in cages, making it hard to interact with them or see them up close. At Mayfield Park in Austin, dozens of peacocks are roaming around, unrestricted, and you can get close enough to touch them if you desire. My sister and I did, and they followed us around for the rest of the time we were there. It was creepy and cool at the same time.
It may still not sound like the most fun activity ever, but it isn't everyday that you find a place where some of the world's most majestic birds are freely wandering around.

I highly recommend visiting the park if you haven't yet. It's truly an unforgettable experience to see these breathtaking creatures out in the open rather than in an enclosed zoo environment where you can't interact with them at all or get very close to them.
