There’s A Two-Story H-E-B In Texas That’ll Take Your Grocery Shopping To The Next Level
The last thing most Texans need is another reason to do their grocery shopping at H-E-B, but we’ve got you covered just in case. In 2019, the chain opened its very first multilevel location in Houston complete with 50+ aisles of unique food items, a massive bakery and meat market, and a coffee bar + brunch restaurant on the roof. The buggies even have their own escalator!

On January 30, 2019, the first multilevel H-E-B opened its doors in the Houston Heights. It spans a whopping 92,000 square feet and boasts one of the most extensive selections of groceries in the city.
How many H-E-B locations have you been to with a parking garage? If we had to guess, the answer would be few to none. This setup reminds us more of the chain's upscale sister store, Central Market.
Upon first walking in, you'll take a brief ride down to where the action is. Oh, and a grocery cart will be patiently awaiting your arrival at the bottom after descending its own, separate escalator.
It'll be love at first sight as your eyes take in this beautiful scene. Far as the eye can see, aisles stocked with unique food items stretch into the distance.
From the largest peanut butter inventory in Texas to a bakery featuring breads, donuts, and other goodies made fresh daily, there's truly something for everyone and any occasion. Shoppers will also delight in a vast array of organic products, meat market rivaling even the best local butchers, and a massive beer and wine selection that overturned the neighborhood's long-standing dry status.
Did we mention there's a whole restaurant on the roof? The Roastery has its flagship store on San Felipe, but took this unparalleled opportunity to expand into a space where young professionals shop on a weekly basis.
If your grocery runs happen bright and early on Sunday morning (perhaps with a cranky child or two in the cart), pop in for a cup of ambition before the shopping trip officially commences. The latte art speaks for itself in terms of how high-quality the coffee is.
Perhaps you only picked up nonperishable items and have a bit more time to hang out after shopping. If that is the case, get ready for the brunch experience of a lifetime. Seafood eggs benedict, freshly-fried mini donuts, and waffles are the perfect refuel after inevitably traipsing around the store for hours.
