We all know and love Froberg’s Farm in Alvin for its bright red, sweet-as-candy strawberries, but a visit is still warranted once the season is over. A five-acre sunflower trail offers bright and cheerful fun for all ages — you can even pick a few blooms to take home!
Located in Alvin, Froberg's Farm has been providing fresh, homegrown produce to the area for ages. It's open year-round, featuring holiday and seasonal celebrations, a market and bakery, and even allowing customers to pick certain crops for themselves.
Froberg's is perhaps most famous for its plump and delicious strawberries, which are available for U-Pick from January through late May. Even after strawberry season is over, you can still visit the farm and navigate its massive sunflower trail.
Bright and cheerful, this five-acre field is the perfect warm-weather activity. It promises a fun time for all ages, with unexpected twists and turns sure to challenge even the most clever among us. If you get lost, as least the view is nothing to complain about!
The trail is open daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. It's $2 to enter, and you can pick sunflowers for $1 each. Professional photography is not currently allowed.
After completing the trail, bring home some souvenirs to remember the experience by! Blackberry picking is available from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. daily, and it runs through August (weather permitting, of course.)
If all that frolicking through the sunflowers worked up your appetite, stop by the snack bar before heading home! More than 35 different pies plus a vast array of other sweets are made fresh daily, their unparalleled quality evident after just one bite. There's also an onsite smokehouse, Greak's, that serves mouthwatering homemade meats like breakfast sausage, jerky, boudain, pork chops, and more.
