Peach season is officially upon us, which means it’s time for all the summery desserts we can get our hands on. Gold Orchards, located in the tiny town of Stonewall, is known statewide for its scrumptious homemade peach pies and ice cream.
Located about 14 miles east of Fredericksburg, Gold Orchards is a family-owned business established in 1940.
On the property, endless rows of trees produce the juiciest, most succulent peaches you've ever tasted. Plums, nectarines, and other crops are sometimes available, as well.
Talented workers peel the delicious fruits by hand to make delicious treats. Everything at Gold Orchards is done with love, and the intentionality is a big reason why the finished products are so incredible.
If you have a sweet tooth, rest-assured there are plenty of opportunities to satisfy it. The homemade peach ice cream won 1st place in the 1992 Peach Jamboree, and it only takes one bite to understand why.
Peach pies are made fresh daily, offered both by-the-slice and whole. The lattice work is simply unparalleled, and that gooey filling oozing out around the edges has our mouths watering.
Scrumptious preserves, in both regular peach and peach jalapeno varieties, are perfect for spreading on a bagel or to compliment a cheese board. You could even eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon!
