This Giant Astronaut In Front Of A Texas McDonald’s Is An Out-Of-This-World Photo-Op
Houston, we have a…quirky roadside attraction? Next time you find your self on Nasa Parkway in Nassau Bay, you won’t be able to tear your eyes away from the larger-than-life astronaut posted up in front of a McDonald’s. This fun photo-op is so worth pulling over for – it just might be one of the best roadside attractions in Texas!
Nassau Bay is a small city of around 5,000 in the Clear Lake area of Houston, just outside the city proper. It is a fairly affluent suburb, with beautiful homes overlooking the pristine lake waters.
The city is best-known for its adjacency Johnson Space Center, a 100-building complex that serves as NASA's center for human spaceflight. Nassau Bay is also only about a mile away from Space Center Houston, the official Visitor Center for the Johnson Space Center.
While there are plenty of photo-ops to choose from inside Space Center Houston, a free roadside attraction outside of a Nassau Bay McDonald's just might be the quirkiest of them all.
A larger-than-life astronaut (holding a box of fries, no less) stands - or floats, rather - tall and proud in front of the restaurant, garnering looks from anyone who passes by.
Nassau Bay encourages locals and visitors alike to stop by and check out this out-of-this-world (pun intended) sight. Don't forget your camera - you'll definitely want to snap a few photos for posterity's sake.
