I’m sure all of us have fantasized about spending the night in a castle that wasn’t at Disney World – a REAL castle. Texas isn’t the first place that comes to mind when considering this dream, but the Lambermont Castle in San Antonio can make your fantasy a reality and transform your rags into a beautiful ball gown (figuratively).
The castle has a rich history and looks as if it hasn’t aged a bit since the day it was built – but then again, maybe it hasn’t. Castles are magical, after all.
Lambermont dates back to 1894, when Edwin Terrell, a former lawyer and ambassador to Belgium, had it built as a residence for his family.
It was built in the image of European castles that Mr. Terrell had fallen in love with on his business travels. He named it "Lambermont" after one of his business associates, and it served as home for him and his family until his passing in 1910.
Although times have changed, Lambermont castle is still representative of the time period it was built in. You'll see crystal chandeliers, hand-carved woodwork, molded brick fireplaces, rich hardwood floors, and more.
The castle sits on one full acre of land surrounded by lush greenery, giving it an open yet private feel - perfect for parties. No matter what the occasion, there's never a wrong time to be king (or queen) for a day and revel in the amenities of a lavish castle that you have all to yourself.
