This Little Known Natural Oasis Is Hiding In Texas…And You’re Going To Love It
X marks the spot for hidden…islands? That’s right – we have our own version of Atlantis right here in Texas. It’s called the “Sometimes Islands” on Lake Travis in Austin, and it’s a beautiful and mysterious formation that you NEED to add to your bucket list (I recommend going at sunset).
Depending on the water level, the islands are sometimes (hence the name) exposed and other times submerged. When they're visible, they connect to land and can be reached via Mansfield Dam Park, making them a peninsula rather than islands.
