This Little Known Natural Oasis Is Hiding In Texas…And You’re Going To Love It
X marks the spot for hidden…islands? That’s right – we have our own version of Atlantis right here in Texas. It’s called the “Sometimes Islands” on Lake Travis in Austin, and it’s a beautiful and mysterious formation that you NEED to add to your bucket list (I recommend going at sunset).
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/
Here’s some footage of a man exploring the islands to give you a better idea of what they look like:
Have you ever had the amazing opportunity to visit the islands? Are there any other hidden natural areas in Texas that are equally awesome?
