Dixie Pig is a no-frills, breakfast and lunch only joint with all the usual suspects on the menu (and Texas-sized portions of them, of course). The eggs are cooked to order, and done correctly - a rare occurrence at most restaurants. Oh, and unlimited refills on coffee!

2. Dumas Walker Pepper & Pie (Brenham)
Who knew Brenham had authentic Cajun cooking? Pistolettes and etouffee so delicious you'll swear you're in Louisiana, or standard fare like burgers and catfish if that's more your style.

3. Ranchman's Ponder Steakhouse (Ponder)
This little gem is hiding some of the most tender, juicy steak you'll ever feast on. The sides like fried green tomatoes and desserts like decadent pies and cobblers are to die for as well, and the service is that signature Southern hospitality that never gets old.

That old-school diner atmosphere is hard to find these days, but Josephine's delivers. You absolutely have to order the chicken-fried steak - countless patrons have said it's the best they've ever had!

Jerry B's is your typical Texas roadhouse, but the food is always on point and the owners are always there to make sure of that. There's cold Shiner, live music, and chicken-fried steak the size of your head.
