You Will Love This Dreamy Ride Through The Largest Drive-Thru Light Show In Texas
It’s officially the most wonderful time of year again, which means
Christmas light displays will soon begin popping up all across Texas. This small-town, hidden gem of a display boasts over four million lights and promises an enchanting holiday experience for kids from one to 92. See for yourself:
Open since 1998, what started as a small attraction for the community of Athens has only gotten more dazzling with each passing year. This giant Christmas park boasts over four million lights spread out across a one-mile drive, attracting visitors from far and wide.
More than 50 musical scenes and motion-controlled light displays keep visitors captivated throughout the entire drive. With seven tunnels, 14 arches, and 1500 wooden cutouts, you'll never know what's coming next.
Kids from one to 92 will see something they can identify with. Cartoon characters, Texas symbols, and even Elvis line the trail for onlookers to marvel at.
You'll stop by the North Pole, where Santa and his elves work tirelessly to get everything ready for Christmas Eve. Peer into their quirky little houses and see what everyone is up to.
A visit to Whoville shows Mr. Grinch trapped in jail, with town residents staring and laughing. With the grumpy holiday-hater successfully captured, Christmas can continue as planned.
An adorable diner complete with a windmill and patrons decked out in cowboy attire adds a charming Texas flair to the show. I bet they're eating some scrumptious homemade pecan pie!
Old-fashioned gas stations, Biblical themes, and a tribute to wounded soldiers are just several of many additional themes. One thing's for sure, no light display in Texas is more diverse than this hidden gem!
Don't forget to roll down your windows and take in the cheerful sounds of Christmas music permeating every vehicle. Nothing slaps a smile on your face quite as fast as holiday tunes.
Plenty of photo-ops throughout the park ensure you'll leave with memories to cherish forever. They'll have a blast masquerading as aliens or gingerbread men.
You'll find Land of Lights at Patterson Rd, Athens, TX 75751. Hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from November 10 to January 3.
