Everyone Should Visit This Enchanting Land Of Ice In Texas This Winter
We’re halfway through December, so it’s time to start making your final plans for what holiday attractions are going to round out the season for your family. One of them should definitely be Moody Gardens’ Ice Land, an enchanting adventure that takes you through a world made entirely of ice. Thousands of pounds of sculptures in the form of everything from rain forest animals to actual slides are enclosed within a building with a temperature of 9 degrees. Better bundle up so you don’t have to rush – trust us, you’ll want to take your time looking at everything.
This year, Ice Land is taking on a rain forest theme complete with monkeys, beautiful birds, vibrant plant life, and more - all made out of ice.
There's even a giant ice slide that takes you from high up in the treetops down to the forest floor. The kids will have a blast sliding over and over again (no matter how frozen they might be after the first few times).
You'll see all sorts of animals, from penguins to fish and everything in between. The coolest part is that the sculptures are in full color, helping add to the illusion that the creatures are real.
Your "hosts" are a group of leaf cutter ants carrying Christmas lights and other decorations to a magical destination at the end of the adventure. They'll be located throughout your walk through Ice Land!
Make sure you bundle up! It has to be pretty darn cold in there to keep the ice from melting. And cold it is indeed - a chilling 9 degrees, to be exact. Brrrr!
Ice Land is open from 11am to 9pm on Value Days, 10am to 11pm on regular days, and 12pm to 11pm on Christmas Day. More information on that can be found here.
The fun runs through January 7, so make sure you plan to check it out before then! You definitely don't want to miss this - it really transports you to another world.

The best part? Ice Land is only one of eight holiday attractions at Moody Gardens. Information about everything else it has to offer can be found here.
