Although Gladewater is home to just 6,000 people, its history is anything but small. Elvis Presley spent time in this tiny town during the early days of his career, and Johnny Cash wrote his hit single "I Walk the Line" here as well.
Once known for being a successful oil boomtown, the city's charming Main Street is now what attracts crowds. Boasting several antique shops full of rare, unique treasures, this blip on the map is a true hidden gem.
Inside The Screen Door, you'll find everything from period furniture to fine china. Grab a freshly brewed cup of coffee to sip while perusing the vast selection.
All that shopping can work up an appetite, and you're definitely in the right place if hunger does indeed strike. The shop also serves as an ice cream parlor, doling out massive bowls of all your favorite flavors. We highly recommend the crowd favorite known as "Ice Cream Nachos," which consist of broken-up waffle cones to scoop up all the creamy goodness with. Gladewater Antique Mall is another great place to search for diamonds in the rough. Nostalgic items from yesteryear are good as new, save for a slight weathered look that only serves to add character.
Dozens of private vendors set up shop, so the inventory is varied and ever-changing. Prices are extremely reasonable, so be sure to bring a vehicle large enough to load all your new acquisitions in!

Lastly, but certainly not least, we're heading to St. Clair Antiques. As you can see, the building is quite large, housing an unparalleled selection of both past and present-day finds.
