Enter A World Of Whimsy At Seismique, A 40,000-Square-Foot Interactive Museum In Texas
If you thought all art museums were drab, just wait until you see this one. Opening on December 26 in Houston, Seismique is a 40,000-square-foot interactive museum featuring work by local and national artists. Each room leads you deeper into a world of whimsy, with immersive, colorful galleries that capture your senses in ways museums seldom do.

The museum features more than 40 unique exhibits, each one telling a story all its own.

Some of the names are easily recognizable, while others are more recent breakouts into the city's art scene.

Among the elements used are projection mapping, holograms, augmented reality, lightmapping, motion-tracking cameras, and gamification.

Take the "Venus" gallery, pictured above, for example. It's basically a playground, with a giant, hammock-like structure in the middle for climbing.

Prepare for a sensory experience like no other as you traverse the galleries and revel in the cacophony of light, color, and sound.

There's even a room known as "The Hub" that will play host to future concerts and other special events. It features a 70-foot-long spaceship with over a million light-emitting diodes!

VIP tickets, which let you skip the line, cost an extra $10.
