The One Of A Kind Festival You Won’t Find Anywhere But Texas
I was always under the impression that the only hot air balloon festival (or the only one worth attending, anyway) was in Albuquerque. Little did I know that that couldn’t be further from the truth – we have one right here in Plano, Texas, and it gives New Mexico a run for its money. With over 50 decorated balloons, activities for the whole family, and more, this is one festival you definitely don’t want to miss.
The annual festival is a weekend long event complete with live music, food, kids' activities, sky divers, and a spectacular fireworks show.
Not only can you watch the balloons ascend into the sky, but you can also ride in them! Don't worry, they're tethered to the ground the entire time so you won't go floating into oblivion.
There are nearly 50 different balloons to marvel at, each with a unique design. From the traditional multicolored to butterflies to company endorsements, you'll see it all.
Each night, something called "Balloon Glow" takes place, where all the balloons inflate simultaneously and light themselves from within, illuminating the night sky with their gentle yet powerful shine.
