Landa Park Aquatic Complex, A Historic Texas Swimming Hole, Is The Perfect Place To Cool Off This Summer
We’ll never get tired of discovering new swimming spots to beat the heat on a sweltering Texas summer day. Landa Park Aquatic Complex is one such destination, and its spring-fed pool is the perfect place to cool off.
On June 10, Landa Park Aquatic Complex officially opened for the season. A historic destination near the Comal River, this popular locale features three pools perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day.
Among these refreshing oases is a spring-fed pool widely considered to be the oldest in Texas. Built in the early 1900s, this little blue-green slice of heaven remains a glorious 72 degrees year-round.
One end of the pool features an exhilarating, two-story slide known as the "Wet Willie." Nearby, a smaller slide and mushroom fountain in shallow waters allow the little ones to have a blast like everyone else.
A zero-depth and Olympic pool offer somewhat warmer temperatures, which is especially beneficial towards the beginning or end of summer. Hop between the three swimming spots to find your favorite, then float the day away and leisurely splash around.
Address: 350 Aquatic Circle, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Hours are 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday-Friday (closed on Tuesday), and 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday.
Please note: Only 400 people will be allowed into the complex at a time. Only the spring-fed pool will be open, and the slide and other large attractions will be closed. Visit the park’s website to learn more.
