Where are some hidden gems in Texas?

Texas is a gigantic state, and as a result, there's a gigantic amount of things to do here. Lots of those things could be considered hidden gems - awesome, little-known spots where you can probably beat the crowds. For example, Boca Chica State Park and beach is an oft-forgotten state park that's been around since 1994, but you don't hear people discussing it much! And did you know there's a literal blue lagoon in Huntsville? There sure is! Jacob's Well is nice, too, especially in the warmer months.

What are some things to do in Texas?

A better question is, what isn't there to do in Texas? The Lone Star State boasts more than 1,000 miles of hiking and walking trails as well as seemingly endless numbers of historical sites, museums, and other ideas. There's the San Antonio River Walk, the Alamo (remember it?), the State Capitol... the possibilities are endless! Need some ideas? Check out this article for some things you may have never knew were there.

Is Texas a fun place to live?

It most certainly can be! Though "fun" is subjective, there's enough things to do here to kill time that we're certain there's something for everyone. From country drives to museums in the cities, surely everyone can find something to love. One of our favorite entertainment districts in the entire state is in Dallas, and it's known as Deep Ellum. It's a collection of bars, restaurants, shops and more with a very artistic slant. It's definitely worth the drive all on its own! Also worth checking out are small places like the 806 Café in Amarillo. Texas is full of hole-in-the-wall, indie restaurants and cafés. You've just got to know where to look!
