Of course, life can’t just be rainbows and butterflies all the time, but certain places in Texas seem to deal with the bumps in the road just a little better than the rest. Creditdonkey.com did a study about the happiest cities in Texas, and compiled data from both the FBI and the U.S. Census to come up with the results. They focused on cities with a population of 50,000 or higher, and ranked each city based on the following criteria: number of restaurants, crime rate, commute, departure time, income, divorce rate, and housing costs.
With this data in mind, here are the ten happiest cities in Texas, ranked from least to most happy.
With an average commute time of 27.8 minutes and most residents spending 20.5% of their income on housing, Frisco made it to the number 10 spot on our list.
This is a very safe community, as your chances of being the victim of a violent crime are 1 in 3,239.2. Only 1.3% of residents leave for work before 5AM, and the average household income is $118,725.
The restaurants per capita are 1 per 356 inhabitants, which is lower than other cities on our list due to the higher population. The percent of income spent on housing is 18.9%, and average income is $107,149.
Coming in at the number one spot on our list is Midland, with an average commute time of 17.4 minutes, a median household income of $59,478, and 19% of income spent on housing.
