Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). The Lone Star State is a big, beautiful place. There’s a lot to explore here. Seeing all that we have to offer could take a full lifetime. One great way to get out and see some of the gorgeous surroundings is to enjoy some of the many trails in Texas. Between our state, local, and national parks, we’ve got countless hikes of varying difficulty to enjoy. Big Bend National Park is one of the most popular places for hiking in Texas. With more than 800,000 acres of preserved wilderness, this place is packed with wonderful trails. As you can imagine, many of them are on the tougher side and better options for experienced hikers, but even novices can find great trails here. One that’s got some really unique features is the Grapevine Hills Trail to Balanced Rock.
