The German Restaurant In Texas Where You’ll Find All Sorts Of Authentic Eats

There are times when you’re hungry and just about anything will do. That’s when you head for tried-and-true pizza or something from the fridge. But then there are times when you need something truly comforting. That’s when you look to perfectly prepared home-cooked meals in cozy environments. This German restaurant offers all the comforts of home (as long as you’re used to home being in Bavaria!) without having to cook. And, there might not be a better place to enjoy authentic German food without a passport.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The Ausländer Restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m.  to 9:30 p.m. Though these hours are likely temporary and will change as the months go on. You can learn more about them and see a menu by visiting their website. Or check them out on Facebook. You can reach them on 830-997-7714.

Lucky for us, there are lots of German eateries here in Texas. They’re hiding in some of the most unlikely spots. In fact, thousands of people visit a nearly deserted town in Texas to eat at this one Bavarian restaurant.
