The Epic Outdoor Food Fest In Texas You Simply Cannot Miss

It’s no secret that we’re big on food here in Texas, especially things like barbecue, chicken-fried steak, and chili (without beans, of course.) If you’re a fan of the latter, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s an entire week-long festival dedicated to chili each fall in our state. The Terlingua International Chili Championship is held annually on the first week of November, and the festivities range from the all-important cook-off to vendors of all sorts of foods. What’s better than a warm bowl of chili on a cold West Texas fall night? I can think of few things that compare.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

For more information, you can visit the festival’s website.

Have you ever been to the International Chili Cook-Off? Do you remember who served your favorite chili?
