Visiting This One Place In Texas Is Like Entering A Dream
Texas is absolutely packed with all different kinds of gorgeous nature, from towering mountains to lush greenery to swimming holes surrounded by limestone rock. While all of these places might be beautiful, locations that take your breath away at first glance are a little harder to come by. The Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park does just that, and now that it’s getting warmer outside, it’s a perfect place for the whole family to marvel in its glory. Here are some photos that capture just how stunning it is:

Santa Elena is the most popular canyon in the entire park - partially because it's easily accessible by car, but mostly because it's overwhelmingly considered the most beautiful. It's taller than any other formation in Big Bend with walls reaching up 1500 feet into the sky.

The Rio Grande meanders right through the canyon for 13 miles, so it's a popular swimming and kayaking spot. There's a raging rapid called the Rock Slide two miles in, so if you like adventure, this is definitely a must-do! Aside from that, it's a pretty leisurely trip (provided the water level is low) because you won't have to fight the current. There's also a beautiful area a few miles upstream where fern trees are growing out of the canyon walls.
