This Delightful General Store In Texas Will Have You Longing For The Past
General stores have a way of making us reminisce on some the best parts of our childhood: Friday nights at the soda fountain with friends, dancing to tunes from a jukebox, Sunday afternoon ice cream with the family…ah, those were the good old days. While we can’t bring back those times, we can do the next best thing and visit places that allow us to relive the cherished memories. Authentic general stores like this one in historic downtown Jefferson are the perfect blasts from the past.
This iconic general store has been around since 1877, and doesn't appear to have changed much since then.
Between the juke box, soda fountain, and authentic retro atmosphere, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time as soon as you step through the front door.
The vintage truck parked out front really completes the ambiance of the general store. No doubt you'll start reminiscing on the days when classic cars were all people drove.
So although the store has seen three different owners throughout its time, its become a permanent fixture in Jefferson and likely isn't going anywhere.
