This Ride Through An Old Mine In Texas Will Take You Back In Time

Although mines have a creepy element due to the large number of horror movies that take place in them, I think we can all agree that they carry a heavy dose of nostalgia as well. A lot of us have family members who worked in them and who told us stories of their 12+ hour daily plight. So what better way to pay homage to that and learn about what those before us endured than touring an actual mine?

There’s one in Texas at the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center in Fort Davis. The mine itself is a replica of the one that used to exist in the same location, but that doesn’t mean the artifacts, minerals, and history it holds are any less real. Take a look for yourself.
