This Texas Deli Is The Number One Place To Eat In America This Year
When you think of the best restaurant in the entire country, what comes to mind? A fancy steakhouse? A revolving rooftop seafood restaurant on the 20th floor of a hotel, perhaps? If anything remotely similar to those two choices popped into your head, you’d be very incorrect. According to Yelp, the #1 place to eat in America in 2017 is Tony’s Italian Delicatessen in Montgomery. With sub sandwiches the size of your face stuffed to the brim with meatballs, cheese, and the like, Reubens with so much corned beef they could break a world record, and signature Italian desserts like cannoli and tiramisu, the authenticity and deliciousness of Tony’s is unmatched by any contender.
Tony's is definitely an unassuming restaurant. Doesn't look like your typical 5-star joint, does it? Just wait until you see the food...
You can never go wrong with a classic Reuben. This NY-style sammy is piled high with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on your choice of either rye or crusty Italian bread.
And the subs are absolutely to-die-for. You know it's gonna be good when it's so stuffed to the brim that the sides aren't even close to touching. Whoever decided to put chicken parm on a sandwich is a genius.
Many customers claim the restaurant's use of fresh, homemade ingredients is what sets it apart from other delis. Every bite is a new, different, transcendent experience.
Oh, and for all y'all carb-counting people, they also have salads available. This is the correct way to make a salad, by the way - with so much meat that you can hardly taste the lettuce underneath.
You didn't think we'd forget about dessert, did you? All the Italian classics like cannolis and tiramisu are made in-house and serve as the perfect ending to the meal (well, provided you have room in your stomach after that massive sandwich!)
