In general, Texas is just a nice place to live. It’s affordable, there’s no state income tax, the landscape is diverse…I could go on and on. Even still, there are some cities that capitalize on these qualities and are considered some of the best places in the state to live. According to Nerdwallet, League City is the 8th best place to live in Texas due to comparing certain quality of life factors like crime rate, housing and demographics, and education with other cities in the state. Here are 10 reasons why you should move here.

1. It's close enough to Houston and Galveston to reap the benefits of city life when you need to and just far enough away to escape the horrific traffic.

2. The unemployment rate is very low - 3.9% versus the national average of 6.3%.

3. The crime rate is extremely low as well, so you won't have to be overly concerned about your safety.

4. It's a great city to raise children in - the school system is in the 76th percentile nationally.

5. It has a relatively short commute time of 29 minutes.

6. It's close to Kemah!

7. It's near an amazing college that's part of the University of Houston system, but much smaller (so your kids get more one-on-one time with professors) and cheaper than the main campus.

8. There's so much entertainment without having to drive into the city.

9. A burger place that's been consistently in the state's top 50 for years is just down the road.

10. You'll have access to so many little cities (Seabrook, Kemah, Webster, Clear Lake, Friendswood, Dickenson without even getting on the highway.
