Austin is full of exciting things to do and see, but sometimes you need to get away to a quiet little oasis. Take a short drive to this preserve for the afternoon.

The Westcave Discovery Center was founded in 1976 with 25 acres. Today, it encompasses 75 acres and provides education to 6,000 students every year.

You'll find it at 24814 Hamilton Pool Road in Round Mountain, about 30 miles west of Austin.
Take the Canyon & Cave Tour, which takes you down a pretty path where you'll be surrounded by nature.

The center offers the Canyon & Cave Tour Saturday and Sunday at 10 AM, Noon, 2 PM and 4 PM. Access to the Upland Trail is available Tuesday - Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM; Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 4 PM.
